Electrical/Automation/Controls Engineer
Summary of Position:
Independently
evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques,
procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and
modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require
the investigation of a limited number of variables. Performance at this
level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features,
and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and
work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.
Performs work which
involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures,
or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are
precedents. Assignments usually include one or more of the following:
Equipment design and development, test of materials, preparation of
specifications, process study, research investigations, report
preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of
principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific narrow area of
assignments.
Qualifications needed:
A background
in an engineering discipline with exposure to other disciplines.
Participation in several multi-discipline projects. A high level of
computer skills is required
Fundamentals of
Engineering (FE, formerly EIT) status is desired.

standard development tools, API's and libraries. Assignments usually
include one or more of the following: software design and development,
de-bug and test of programs, preparation of specifications, process study,
and documentation preparation.
Qualifications needed:
A background
in software development is required. Developer or co-developer of multiple
software projects. A high level of computer skills is mandatory.
Educational or License
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree or
equivalent, in computer science from an accredited curriculum or suitable
work experience. Experience needed: At least 2 years of experience in C/C++ development, including a variety of skill-sets. One year of experience programming with Visual Studio, Code Warrior or equal is necessary. Experience making Win32 API calls and coding multi-threaded applications is desired. Experience using Visual Basic is desired. |
